Today Revelation Meditation : 08/10/2025 The book of Revelation Explanation Post -136 X.II) Meditation Article: The Israelites and the New Testament Church: Beloved holy people of the Lord, it was God’s divine plan that the Son of God, Jesus Christ, would be born as a man, take upon Himself the sins of the world, die, and rise again. For this purpose, God chose that He should be born into a separated and covenant people who knew His statutes. Therefore, the Almighty God chose Abraham to bring forth a chosen generation as His own people. “The Lord had said to Abram, ‘Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.’” (Genesis 12:1–2) “Then I will make my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers.” (Genesis 17:2) “As for me, this is My covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations. No longer will you be called Abram; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations.” (Genesis 17:4–5) These words of the Lord reveal God’s decision to create a people called Israel through Abraham. Abraham’s grandson Jacob was named Israel: “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.” (Genesis 32:28; 35:10–11) His twelve sons were appointed by God as the heads of the twelve tribes of Israel. When the angel Gabriel foretold the birth of Jesus to Mary, He said: “You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call Him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David, and He will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; His kingdom will never end.” (Luke 1:31–33) Jesus Christ, the Messiah, who came through the tribe of Judah, ministered among the Israelites for three and a half years. Yet the Israelites, both individually and as a nation, did not receive Him. “He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.” (John 1:11) Jesus said, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.” (Matthew 15:24) But the Israelites accused Him, saying, “It is only by Beelzebul, the prince of demons, that this fellow drives out demons.” (Matthew 12:24) They joined with the chief priests and Pharisees to condemn Christ to death. By declaring, “His blood is on us and on our children!” (Matthew 27:25), they rejected the Messiah both personally and nationally. Therefore, the Lord said, “The kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit.” (Matthew 21:43) According to this word, on the Day of Pentecost, the Church of the age of grace was established. (Acts 2:1–3, 47) When the Israelites, refusing to repent, stoned Stephen—who was filled with the Holy Spirit—they rejected the third manifestation of the Holy Trinity, the Holy Spirit. Because of this, the Israelites have been living without their divine calling and election until this day. “God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that could not see and ears that could not hear, to this very day. And David says: ‘May their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a retribution for them. May their eyes be darkened so they cannot see, and their backs be bent forever.’” (Romans 11:8–10) These verses reveal that God has temporarily set aside His calling upon Israel. Beloved holy people of the Lord, we must understand that the congregation of Israel and the Church of the age of grace are two distinct entities, and God deals with each in different ways. From the Day of Pentecost until the end of the first three and a half years of the tribulation period under the Antichrist, God deals with the bride—the Church of the age of grace. Only after that time does God once again turn His attention to Israel. During the final three and a half years of the great tribulation, God will deal with Israel again, showing mercy and bringing about their redemption. “How much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree!” (Romans 11:24) “And in this way all Israel will be saved. The Deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob. And this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins.” (Romans 11:26–27) These verses reveal God’s plan to redeem Israel through forgiveness and include them in His glorious coming. The Israelites are the physical descendants and seed of Abraham. They confirmed their covenant relationship with God through the act of circumcision: “This is my covenant with you and your descendants after you, the covenant you are to keep: Every male among you shall be circumcised. You are to undergo circumcision, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and you.” (Genesis 17:10–11) However, the believers of the Church age become members of the body of Christ by being born again of water and the Spirit. (John 3:3) Unlike the Israelites, every believer of the Church age receives the anointing of the Holy Spirit and the sign of speaking in other tongues. The Holy Spirit dwells permanently within them. “I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—the Spirit of truth.” (John 14:16) The Old Testament congregation did not receive this blessing. The Israelites were under the Law of Moses, and Christ Himself was sent under the Law: “When the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law.” (Galatians 4:4–5) The Church, however, is under grace. The Israelites sought righteousness through works of obedience (Deuteronomy 6:25), but the Church received righteousness by faith. (Romans 1:16–17; 3:22) The congregation of Israel is portrayed as the unfaithful wife of God (Hosea 9:1), whereas the Church of the age of grace is described as the bride of the Lamb, clothed in fine linen—bright and clean, representing the righteous acts of the saints. (Revelation 19:7–8; 21:9–10) God revealed Himself to Israel as their King, Lord, and Master, and they were His servants and subjects of the kingdom. But the believers of the Church age are God’s own family—His children, heirs of God, and co-heirs with Christ. (Romans 8:17) To Israel, God promised earthly blessings (Deuteronomy 28:1–2). To the Church, He has given heavenly blessings: “God has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.” (Ephesians 1:3) “And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.” (Ephesians 2:6–7) In the millennial kingdom, the saints from Israel will have a share in the administration of the kingdom, while the bride—the Church—will reign with Christ. (Revelation 5:10; 20:4) Four-fifths of Scripture concerns Israel, and only one-fifth pertains to the Church of grace. The revelations concerning the Church were not given to the Old Testament saints. The mysteries regarding the Church were revealed specifically to the Apostle Paul and the Apostle John. (Romans 11:13–14; Ephesians 3:9–11; Revelation 1:1) In the ministry of Christ, Apostle I. The 144,000 mentioned in Revelation chapters 7 and 14 are the same group. “They will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads.” (Revelation 22:4) The 144,000 seen in Revelation chapter 7 are the same ones who, according to God’s plan mentioned in Zechariah 14:4–5 — “On that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south. You will flee by my mountain valley…” — are united with the Bride who is waiting in Azal. The Bride Church, who is waiting in Azal, is joined together as one flock (John 10:16) with them, and in the secret coming of the Lord (1 Thessalonians 4:17), they are caught up to meet Him and will be with the Lord forever. Therefore, in eternity, as described in Revelation 14:1, they stand on Mount Zion as the victorious Bride Church, having the Father’s name written on their foreheads and singing the new song. Today Revelation Meditation : 06/10/2025 The book of Revelation Explanation Post -134 X.1) i) What does it mean to be sealed? In more than sixty places in Scripture, we read about the act of sealing. When a seal is placed upon an object or a person, it declares who the owner is and who is responsible for its protection. Some seals signify royal authority (1 Kings 21:8; Esther 8:8). They prevent interference from others (Jeremiah 32:10; Matthew 27:66). They confirm covenants made between people (Nehemiah 9:38; Isaiah 8:16). Paul says that Abraham’s circumcision was a seal of the righteousness he had by faith (Romans 4:11). Likewise, when we accept the gospel of salvation, we are sealed in Him by the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13). This means that He takes responsibility to establish us in salvation and protect us from falling. ii) What does it mean to have the Father’s name written? "The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of My God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of My God and the name of the city of My God—the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from My God—and I will also write on them My new name." (Revelation 3:12) "Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had His Father’s name written on their foreheads." (Revelation 14:1) "Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel." (Revelation 7:4) "And I saw what looked like a sea of glass glowing with fire and, standing beside the sea, those who had been victorious over the beast and its image and over the number of its name. They held harps given them by God and sang the song of God’s servant Moses and of the Lamb: 'Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways, King of the nations.'" (Revelation 15:2-3) Beloved saints of the Lord, from these divine scriptures it is clear that the 144,000 are the victorious ones redeemed from among Israel. During the great tribulation—the last three and a half years under the Antichrist—they overcame, and therefore the Father’s name is written on their foreheads. They accepted the Lamb as their Messiah in the time of tribulation, obeyed His commands of redemption, and followed Him wherever He went, fulfilling the perfect will of the Father. Today Revelation Meditation : 04/10/2025 The book of Revelation Explanation Post -133 X.1) Revelation Chapter 7: Research Article Are the 144,000 mentioned in Revelation chapter 7 the same group as the 144,000 mentioned in chapter 14? Beloved holy people of the Lord, there are differing opinions concerning the 144,000 described in Revelation chapters 7 and 14. Some say both passages refer to the same group, while others claim they are two different groups. Since both chapters speak of a company with the same number, certain people argue it is not right to conclude that they are one and the same. However, we observe a similar unity in Revelation chapter 21 where the glory of the holy New Jerusalem—the bride coming down out of heaven—is described. When the gates of the city are mentioned, the divine writer, the apostle John, says, “On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel.” (Revelation 21:13) When speaking about the foundations of the city wall, he says, “The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.” (Revelation 21:14) Just because the number twelve appears in both places, some assume that the twelve tribes of Israel and the twelve apostles of the Lamb are one and the same. But when we examine both groups more deeply, even though they may appear different at first, we can recognize that they belong to one united people. The 144,000 mentioned in Revelation chapter 7 are those who have been sealed on their foreheads (Revelation 7:3–4). Today Revelation Meditation : 03/10/2025 The book of Revelation Explanation Post -132 IX.1.3) “For the great day of His wrath has come, and who can withstand it?” (Revelation 6:17) Beloved holy people of the Lord, this verse confirms that the day of God’s wrath upon the earth begins the moment the sixth seal is broken by the Lamb who was slain—our Savior Jesus. As the trumpets continue to sound and the bowls of wrath are poured out, the judgment of God continues. “With them God’s wrath is completed.” (Revelation 15:1; 11:18; 16:1,17,19) These scriptures teach that the great fiery wrath of God is poured out upon the Antichrist, upon his throne, upon his people, upon the mountains and hills, bringing punishment and destruction. “The mountains quake before Him and the hills melt away. The earth trembles at His presence, the world and all who live in it. Who can withstand His indignation? Who can endure His fierce anger? His wrath is poured out like fire; the rocks are shattered before Him.” (Nahum 1:5,6) These verses reveal to us who our God truly is. “The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in Him.” (Nahum 1:7) This loving and gracious Lord, to those who do not obey Him, “The LORD is a jealous and avenging God; the LORD takes vengeance and is filled with wrath. The LORD takes vengeance on His foes and vents His wrath against His enemies.” (Nahum 1:2) According to this scripture, He is a God who executes justice.
